Located on the east coast of Florida just north of Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach is a relaxing and charming vacation spot, with plenty of fine dining options and nightlife. Temps are in the high 70s and low 80s this time of year in Deerfield Beach and the water is currently listed at 76 degrees.
The beach is the main attraction, where the pier stretches out almost a thousand feet into the Atlantic Ocean. Avid fishermen can spend 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the pier, and live bait is available on site. Even if you are only there for the view, it is worth the meager $1 fee to walk the length of the pier and see the sights.
There are a few options right on the water for dining and nightlife in Deerfield Beach. Oceans 234, located directly off the pier, has all of that fresh seafood you would expect from an oceanside restaurant, and sushi too. JB’s on the Beach is also just steps away from the pier, featuring fresh seasonal seafood, steaks, ribs, and chops prepared on a wood fired grill.
For nature-lovers, the Deerfield Beach Arboretum is a must-see destination. The park covers 9 acres and contains more than 200 different species of trees and palms from around the world (five continents). The arboretum is maintained by a group of garden enthusiasts known as Friends of the Deerfield Beach Arboretum, and tours are available every Friday and the first Saturday of every month.
